Mrs. Shawn Lijoi

Hi, my name is Shawn Lijoi.  I’m pleased to have the opportunity to introduce myself as a member of the Grafton Public Schools Reading Department.  I am a Reading Specialist at Millbury Street Elementary School where I teach students in grades 2-5.  I received my B.A. in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, and my Masters Degree in Education with a concentration in Literacy from Anna Maria College.  I currently hold the following licenses:  Reading Specialist K-12, Elementary 1-6, and Special Education Moderate Disabilities.

I have been teaching in the Grafton Public Schools since May of 2002. I taught language arts and reading for many years at Grafton Middle School, before coming to MSES in 2013. Although I enjoyed teaching at the middle school level, I have to say that I truly love teaching at this level also.  Each day I am thankful that I have the opportunity and the ability to provide my students with the skills they need to succeed as readers and lifelong learners.

My favorite children’s book to read with my own children was Are You My Mother? by P.D. Eastman.  I have many special memories of enjoying books with them, but this one holds a special place in my heart.
